As we mature, skin, the soft tissue it covers (including muscles, fat) as well as bone beins to thin. This volume loss results in a sagging or sunken facial appearance. Biostimulators such as Sculptra (poly-L-lactic acid = PLLA) and Radiese (calcium hydroxylapatite = CaHA)) can be injected into superficial tissue to stimulate the body's natural production of collagen and create facial structure, framework and volume.

The effects of Sculptra treatment is initially done in 3 sessions 4 to 6 weeks apart. The effect appear gradually over a few months, producing natural results with maintenance treatment indicated by 2 years.

Radiesse produces immediate results and over time increases collagen in the the areas injected with effects typically lasting about 12 months before repeat treatment.
